Natasha:

Hi there and welcome to the Cardcast. I'm so glad you're here. I'm Natasha and I'm here to share a daily practice. I love pulling an oracle card and interpreting it through the lens of my life. My goal is to help you see oracle cards as a tool for noticing and anchoring throughout your day. So take a deep breath, pull up a chair and let's see what the cards have to say.

Natasha:

Today's card is a tarot card from the Tarot of the Divine by Yoshi Yoshitani, and our card is the Seven of Coins and classically, the Seven of Coins represents renewal and perseverance and kind of the result of decisions, investment like fruition. It is this place to where we don't fully have like a full harvest yet, like things haven't fully come to what they're supposed to come to. So we have an opportunity with this card to figure out if it's right to be patient and stay the course, or do we scrap everything and start fresh? With Tarot of the Divine I'd mentioned before. What I really like is the artist relates each card to a mythological or folklore from around the world, and this one's from Aztec folklore about Nanahuatzin and so on the card we have these two individuals from different tribes and they're looking at each other and there's a giant flame in the center, in between them and at the bottom. You can see that there is corn in some places. It's a little bit scattered throughout. When I see fire and I think about what the card represents and what those stories represent. It's also this element of good things require sacrifice, sacrificing our time, our effort, our money. But that doesn't mean that, even though we have sacrificed so far, that we can fall into this sunk cost fallacy, which is when we think that because we've invested so much in it already whether that be time or money or resources that therefore we have to keep going with it. So this is again that pause, that opportunity to reevaluate and reflect and what's work on, what's working and what's not. Sometimes we do need to make a pivot and sometimes we just need to make some modifications and sometimes nothing needs to change either. So we really this is a great card of opportunity.

Natasha:

I think another piece for this that it brings up is, while we're waiting for the thing that we've been working to create, kind of waiting for this quote unquote harvest. If we just sat there and stared at the harvest and we just sat and stared for too long it would look like nothing was happening, because things need time. They need consistent effort, but they also need time to grow. And so just because we sat and stared for so long and we didn't see anything, it doesn't necessarily mean that there's no growth. We just didn't see it in those moments that we were sitting there and staring at it.

Natasha:

So, with that, there's this element of keep going, keep going on your path and whatever that currently looks like. I also appreciate that the huge flame in the center of the card that can be we are burning away the things that no longer serve us, that we no longer need, and it can also be the stoking of the inspiration that keeps our passion and the fire that we have for a project or for something going. And then, of course, your classic. Sometimes you have to burn something down to ashes so it can rise like a phoenix. So there's a lot that could go on, but again, at this place, this card is saying it could be any of those things. It's not pointing to any one thing. This is that reevaluate and reflect period to see which direction you want to go.

Natasha:

For me, what is interesting about this is there are a couple of places in my life where I can definitely see that I need to reevaluate and reflect. I love to get super into something and I cannot do something part way. I am an all the way person, all in. That is how I go about most things, no matter how big or small that thing is. And so there are a few things where, as I'm learning to temper that, part of that temperance comes from finding these points along the way to continue to say is this working, is it not? Where can I scale back? Where do I need to ramp up? And I like that this card is inviting me to do that because there are several projects that I think could use that evaluation at this point.

Natasha:

Outside of that, there's a lot of change going on in the world. There's a lot of change, I know, going on within various industries for a lot of reasons. Some of it's because of what's going on in the world, some of it is just because that is the nature of business. And so, with this card, what can I control here and how can I move certain things forward or modify them or start or stop? If I sit and stare at it for too long, I could devolve into too much negativity, or too much positivity in the sense of I'm going to make this happen no matter what, and we confuse determination with not paying attention.

Natasha:

There's a quote from I don't know who it was originally from. I heard Tom Hanks say it and I'm paraphrasing here, but he was saying that you know, if you're feeling bad, like things aren't working and things aren't going your way, and that nobody is on your side, just wait, because that will change. If you're feeling great, if you're feeling you know like things are working in your favor and like everybody gets you like, just wait. So it goes back to that, time is your ally. Sometimes you just have to wait it out, and then other times there are things that you can do, and that's what this card is really inviting us to do. So, as I talked about the different symbols and the different stories from today, what comes to mind for you?

Natasha:

That's all for today's card. For more insights and pictures of the cards that I use, you can find me on Instagram and @. at the underscore card cast. I'll see you in the next episode.
