The Cardcast
The Cardcast is a quiet exploration of life, one oracle card at a time. In each episode, we pull a single card and reflect on how its message weaves through the everyday — the moments, questions, and patterns that shape our world. No predictions, no prescriptions — just space to notice, connect, and listen in. Whether you're card-curious or card-devoted, come sit with the symbols.

Pele (Potential)
In today's episode, I talk about the Pele oracle card. I share the symbolism and meaning of the card and relate it to the world around and within us.

Hi there and welcome to the Cardcast. I'm so glad you're here. I'm Natasha and I'm here to share a daily practice. I love pulling an oracle card and interpreting it through the lens of my life. My goal is to help you see oracle cards as a tool for noticing and anchoring in your day. So take a deep breath, pull up a chair and let's see what the cards have to say.
Natasha:Today's card is from the Guidance of the Goddess Oracle by Annette Peirceau. She is one of my favorite artists and I was so thrilled when she did a goddess deck because her goddess art is phenomenal. Today's card is Pele, who represents potential, and on this card we have a really beautiful image of Pele. Her body, from like her waist down, is a volcano that is essentially erupting, and then her hair and the top part of her clothes, if you will, are made up of the smoke that comes out of that volcano. So, if anyone doesn't know, pele is the Hawaiian goddess of fire, lightning and dance. She's very representative of creativity and curiosity and passion and, and like the card itself says, potential. So when we think about these things that we want to do or the places we know we want to go, that potential or the potential of a project. We want to embark on it because we feel this fire right, we feel this passion for wanting to do this thing. And that's really where the magic of a goddess like Pele comes into play, where she really helps you. She kind of like erupts into your life so that you can see, like, is this something I'm really passionate about? Is this something I'm really interested in and really want to do? I know, for me, when there's a project that I am excited about, it really does consume me. I know I've said that before, but it consumes my thoughts in a way where I'm like I ha, I have to get it out of me and either onto an audio medium, onto the page, onto something, but I have to bring it forward and so that fire that we feel about something just it's so powerful. And so, with Peli kind of showing us that potential, she's stoking those fires to make sure that you take action on that thing.
Natasha:This doesn't just have to be for creative pursuits. This can also be for it can be for anything really, but it can be for a cause that you hear about and you feel outraged that that thing is happening. Or there's this policy in the workplace where you're like that doesn't seem like it benefits the most people. I want to learn more about that. I want to do something about it.
Natasha:So, with Pele, it's not also just about this eruption of emotion and of force towards something. It's really about the what are these pieces? Right, if we think about how a volcano, before it explodes, there's a lot of movement happening before it can actually erupt, and so keep in mind that when there is that potential, when there is that passion, like what are these? What is the movement? That kind of needs to happen so that when this volcano erupts, it is epic in all of the right ways. Not in the ways where it's career damaging, right, or cause damaging or relationship damaging, but in the ways where it is memorable and it is exciting and people look at it or they experience it with this kind of state of wonder, like just how did this happen?
Natasha:This is incredible when I talk about the different symbols here, right, this volcano, this passionate goddess who kind of points us towards our curiosity and our potential. What comes to mind for you? That's all for today's card. For more insights and to see pictures of the cards, you can find me on Instagram and YouTube @T the underscore card cast.
