The Cardcast
The Cardcast is a quiet exploration of life, one oracle card at a time. In each episode, we pull a single card and reflect on how its message weaves through the everyday — the moments, questions, and patterns that shape our world. No predictions, no prescriptions — just space to notice, connect, and listen in. Whether you're card-curious or card-devoted, come sit with the symbols.

Hi there and welcome to the Cardcast. I'm so glad you're here. I'm Natasha, and I'm here to share a daily practice. I love pulling an oracle card and interpreting it through the lens of my life. My goal is to help you see oracle cards as a tool for noticing and anchoring in your day. So take a deep breath, pull up a chair and let's see what the cards have to say.
Speaker 1:Today's card is from the Wild Woman Oracle, and we have Hecate, queen of the Crossroads, and on the card, under the title of the card, it says the unknown, and I'm, in general, a big fan of Hecate, so I could talk about that for too long. I will stick to what's on the card though. So what we have on this card is we have the goddess Hecate who is walking through a forest. She has a big black dog with her. That is one of her correspondences. Dogs represent loyalty. They represent an element of family, of the ability to focus, to hone in on things, protection, and this dog is very future focused, very forward focused, so his body's a little bit rigid, like he just saw something that he's honing in on In her hand there's a torch Again, another thing that he's honing in on In her hand there's a torch Again, another thing that she's very notorious for. But the torch can represent lighting the way. It can represent shining a light on the things that we need to be looking at, that we're not looking at. And because the torch is made of fire, it can also be burning away those things that don't really serve us anymore, things that we don't really need. She also has a snake that's coiled around her arm and partly around the torch, and snakes, I know, are one of the more controversial symbols. But snakes can mean healing and shedding the old so that we can step into the new. And then we have, in the kind of slightly in the background, is one of those signposts, that's the crossroads signposts, and Hecate is the queen or the goddess of the crossroads. So when we're at that place where the unknown right, like the card, says I don't know which way to go, where the unknown right, like the card, says I don't know which way to go, these could all be great paths, they could all be terrible paths. I am unsure and I need kind of this torch to help guide the way, this companion in this dog, this healing, this shedding the old and stepping into the new that we see in the symbolism on this card.
Speaker 1:So this card brings up really, if we relate it to kind of our day-to-day life, our decisions. The things I just said are big, heavy symbols, but really it's about the decisions we need to make, even if the decision is difficult and we feel like full of uncertainty about it. It's really that pushing us to make a decision. Doing nothing is a decision. So if you want that to be your decision, you can certainly do nothing, but decisions must be made and we won't know really if it's a good or a terrible decision until we've made it. And then we have so many tools at our disposal, so many internal tools, so many external tools where, if it is the wrong decision, we can likely fix it or we can continue to push forward and navigate to the other side of it.
Speaker 1:So, thinking about this card, what are some decisions that you've either been putting off or that you know you need to make?
Speaker 1:How could you maybe reframe that as being at a crossroads and stepping into this different type of opportunity?
Speaker 1:Is it like the snake, where you need to shed the old to move into the new? Do you need that torch? Maybe you do need just a little bit more information, just a little bit more guidance to help you make that decision. Is it like the dog, where you need a companion? You need somebody who's going to be by your side and be able to see and identify the things that you don't. But whatever those pieces are that are holding you back from making the decision, what can you control and what can you do to make that decision for yourself? Also, knowing that it is still a journey and just make the next right decision and the right decision is whatever decision needs to be made. Then you can make another one, and another one, and another one. Our lives are just a series of stacked decisions and choices, so you can then continue to make another decision and another choice. That's all for today's card. For more insights and pictures of the cards, you can follow me on Instagram or YouTube at the underscore card cast. I'll see you in the next episode.
