Mermaid's Tears

Natasha Season 1 Episode 16

The "Mermaid's Tears" oracle card reveals the importance of acknowledging our emotional states while recognizing we exist in transitional spaces where balance can still be found. This powerful symbol combines water imagery and moon phases to reflect how we process feelings in the in-between moments of our emotional journeys.

Speaker 1:

Hi there and welcome to the Cardcast. I'm Natasha and I'm so glad you're here. Each day, I pull an Oracle card and reflect on what it means in the context of everyday life. My hope is to help you use these cards as simple tools for awareness and grounding. So take a deep breath, settle in and let's see what today's card has to say.

Speaker 1:

Today's card is from the Alchemist's Oracle by Zoe Sadler, and our card, specifically, is Mermaid's Tears, and when we look at the card, there is a mermaid in a jar. The jar is tear-shaped, the mermaid herself appears to be crying and she's holding an egg or a rock or something, and then, on the top, the bottle stopper has a moon on it Not a full moon, but like a waxing or a waning moon. And when I see this, a lot of things come to mind Mermaids and water being such a big part of our emotional lives, and being able to bottle different things, whether they're really good things that we want to kind of bottle up for later, or things that we want to bottle so we can hide them away, so that they aren't out in the open and able to impact us. And water, over time, can smooth down rough edges. It can also, though, erode things to a point where they're no longer recognizable. So I think that's really interesting about this card. And then the moon. Obviously, we have the phases of the moon, so you have a full moon, and at the full moon, that's when things have kind of come to fruition, and now you're working on letting things go, versus a new moon where you don't see the moon at all on that night, and essentially, it's the opportunity to build so you get to that next phase of a full moon and with this waxing or waning moon on here.

Speaker 1:

It's kind of that in-between place To me this really represents. Regardless of where you are on the emotional side of whatever journey you're on, this is an opportunity to acknowledge that in any moment, we're going to have a lot of feelings around things, around how things are done, around how things are turning out or how we think they might turn out, but that it's not the end. We haven't gotten to that full moon, we haven't gotten to that new moon. The water has not fully done whatever it's going to do, the smoothing or the eroding. We're in this in-between place.

Speaker 1:

In this in-between place, we can absolutely still find balance and peace. We just have to acknowledge where we are and what that can mean for us. In that moment. It doesn't have to be the greatest joy or the deepest sadness it could also be those things but just acknowledge where we are and that things are going to change. It will continue to adapt, will continue to adapt. We'll get more tools in our own tool belts and we'll be able to then move into that next phase. As you think about the symbols that I shared today, what comes up for you? That's it for today's card.
