The Cardcast
The Cardcast is a quiet exploration of life, one oracle card at a time. In each episode, we pull a single card and reflect on how its message weaves through the everyday — the moments, questions, and patterns that shape our world. No predictions, no prescriptions — just space to notice, connect, and listen in. Whether you're card-curious or card-devoted, come sit with the symbols.

Trust Yourself
Today's oracle card "Trust Yourself" from the Sacred Rebels deck features a figure surrounded by animals, symbolizing the inner wisdom we all possess and our ability to adapt to change. The card invites us to reflect on how we can trust ourselves to find answers and evolve through life's changing circumstances.

Hi there and welcome to the Cardcast. I'm Natasha and I'm so glad you're here. Each day I pull an oracle card and reflect on what it means in the context of everyday life. My hope is to help you use these cards as simple tools for awareness and grounding. So take a deep breath, settle in and let's see what today's card has to say.
Speaker 1:Today I'm using an oracle card from the Sacred Rebels oracle deck and our card is Trust Yourself, and on it we have a figure who is surrounded like we just see her head and she is surrounded by. Surrounded like we just see her head and she is surrounded by animals. They're all very close around her head, almost like a crown of animals, and there are lizards and butterflies. I see a sloth, a monkey, an iguana, a snake, there are birds, so all different types of animals surrounding her, and she is looking up and out like to the future. The first thing that comes to mind when I think about animals, I always think about just the wisdom that they have. Their lives are simple, in the sense of they know what they're here to do. They do that thing. It makes sense, it's very natural. So there's this element of wisdom and it being around the top part of her head is really indicating that you are wise With all the different types of animals. Also, it makes me think of growth. All these different animals have, of course, different type growth cycles, but we're always growing when we learn about different things, whether it's about different animals or different ways to have conversations or different ways to engage in our relationships or even different ways to build something. Anytime we're learning these other things, we're growing trust in ourselves, that kind of similar to how she has all the animals around her head. That knowledge is around us and within us and we'll be able to find it. So we can trust that if we don't know something in the moment, we'll be able to find the answer. We can find most of the answers. It might take us a little bit longer than we were hoping, or that we thought little bit longer than we were hoping or that we thought, but you can trust in yourself to find those answers, as we're learning to trust ourselves again, or for the first time, or just the ongoing journey that is life with this ecosystem of animals. We have to remember that these things are an ecosystem, with that there are a lot of different pieces that we keep in play in our lives or that are in play in our lives that are helping us to maintain stability and balance, to move forward, whether those are internal tools that we use or they're external tools that we leverage. It's all an ecosystem and similar to the animal kingdom.
Speaker 1:When things change, it can cause other things to be out of balance. So this is where I think the trust in yourself thing is really interesting, because we all experience change and we all experience instability, and when we do, our initial response is to try to control things and get them back to how they were right, regain that homeostasis, when in reality, things are unstable or they're changing, because the world is changing, our environment is changing, we're changing. So, instead of trying to grasp all these things and get back to homeostasis, instead we should work towards getting to that evolution which is called allostasis, and that is, yes, we're back in balance. Yes, we're back in, but not the same one that we were before the change and the instability occurred. That's part of that wisdom and that being able to grow and think and evolve in new and different ways we get to these new places of now. This is what balance looks like. I think this is also interesting because this card brings up that that will always be an evolution.
Speaker 1:What was stabilizing and balancing for someone when you were younger? Right, when you were a kid? Different than college, different than being in the workforce, different than being in a relationship? So it's a constant evolution and something that we just need to be aware of and revisit so we don't get things thrown too far out of whack, we're able to leverage our tools and get back into that balance and then, if we can't get back to that balance, do that internal and external work to get to that next stage of allostasis. I'm going to invite you now to think about all the things that you have come through, how you have evolved.
Speaker 1:When you've been in a place of what you thought was stability or was stability at the time you had to change, and just think about those different times. I'm confident that most people have several that they can call upon and you don't need to dive too deep unless you want to, but really to consider, when the next thing comes up, whether that next thing is directly in front of you or it's a little bit ahead of you. You already have a lot of experience with evolving and changing and being in ambiguity, so you can, in fact, trust yourself that you're going to be able to navigate this next one. That's it for today's card. For more reflections and a closer look at the cards themselves, you can find me on Instagram, tiktok and YouTube at the underscore card cast. I'll see you in the next episode.
