The Cardcast

Rewilding with Grandmother Moon

Natasha Season 1 Episode 51

Today's Wild Woman Oracle card "Rewilding with Grandmother Moon" invites us to examine which beliefs and values still align with our authentic selves and which we can release.

• The concept of rewilding involves examining our adopted beliefs and values to ensure they still resonate with who we are now
• As we move through life, we adopt different personas to figure out what resonates, but often hold onto non-resonant aspects longer than intended
• Wolves symbolize knowing your rightful place – functioning well in community while also honoring solitude
• The full moon represents completion and letting go of what no longer serves us
• Our authentic selves naturally evolve over time, requiring periodic reassessment of what's truly important
• Just as we can't physically carry every item we've ever purchased, we can't carry all emotional and cognitive baggage forever

Speaker 1:

Hi there and welcome to the Cardcast. I'm Natasha and I'm so glad you're here. Each day I pull an oracle card and reflect on it as a tool for awareness and grounding. So take a deep breath, settle in and let's see what today's card has to say. Today's card is from the Wild Woman Oracle and we have rewilding with Grandmother Moon. The message here is rewilding and we have this woman who is sitting next to a creek and there's a large full moon in the background and we have a wolf who is howling at that moon. There are a lot of trees. She's got a candle kind of lighting her area.

Speaker 1:

I really love this idea of rewilding because it's essentially when we are examining our opinions and our values, our beliefs and these different things that we've adopted over time, and seeing if those things are still in alignment with who we are. As we know, as we move through life, we adopt different things and we take on different personas, not necessarily because we're trying to be something or be someone else, but because we're trying to figure out the aspects of that that are like us, that we really resonate with, and in that journey we find that we will hold on to those things, the pieces that don't always resonate far longer than we ever intended to. So, with this idea of rewilding, it's what is truly important to you right now. How do you want to show up in the world now? And what are those other things that we can let go? The wolf is an incredible animal symbol of knowing your rightful place and understanding your rightful place. They have very unique and supportive and familial packs and they can also go off and have that alone time the concept of the lone wolf so we can be part of a community, we can be part of a family, and in rewilding, sometimes we need to go off and figure some things out for ourselves. Wolves are also representative of reconnection, so that reconnection to ourselves and what's actually important to us at these different points.

Speaker 1:

The full moon represents letting things go. It's something that's fully come to fruition and now we're at the point where we can start to say this no longer serves me, this no longer works here, so I'm going to let those things go. They have served their time. I don't have to carry all of these things forever, and it would be impossible to carry all the things that we've gathered forever If we think about our experiences and our emotions and all these different things. Just like you can't carry every single item you've ever purchased with you on your person, you can't do that with these other emotional and cognitive things either.

Speaker 1:

I also like that on the card she is really looking out to across this creek, to this wolf, to this full moon. Like I acknowledge where I am in this moment and that some things need to adapt, I don't need to go through this whole change, but at different points in our lives there is a rewilding that does need to occur so we can stay in alignment with who we truly are, and who we truly are adapts over time. We evolve. Today, I think the card is really asking us what is truly important to you, and if we can think about that, then we can see what things we need to let go and what things we can focus on. That's it for today's card. For more reflections and a closer look at the cards themselves, you can find me on Instagram at the underscore card cast. I'll see you in the next episode.
