The Cardcast
The Cardcast is a quiet exploration of life, one oracle card at a time. In each episode, we pull a single card and reflect on how its message weaves through the everyday — the moments, questions, and patterns that shape our world. No predictions, no prescriptions — just space to notice, connect, and listen in. Whether you're card-curious or card-devoted, come sit with the symbols.
The Cardcast
Rooted in Truth, Reaching for Stars
We explore the Imagination card from the Necronomicon Tarot deck, inspired by HP Lovecraft, continuing our journey theme. This powerful symbol balances being rooted in lived experience while reaching toward new possibilities.
• The card shows a figure rising from golden roots, stretching upward with a crescent moon in one hand and a galaxy in the other
• Imagination isn't escape but a deeper way of seeing and envisioning healing
• The shadowed face with glowing eyes reminds us the self isn't fixed—we dissolve and transform on our journey
• Small moments of noticing (morning light, rustling leaves, a stranger's kindness) are provisions for our journey
• Tending to inner health requires listening and slowing down rather than racing ahead
• Practice noticing one thing each evening—a sound, color, or texture—and writing it down without analysis

Hi there and welcome to the Cardcast. I'm Natasha and I'm so glad you're here. Together, we explore the art of noticing the symbols, stories and quiet patterns that surround us every day, and how they connect to our mental health and well-being. Each card becomes a way to pause, reflect and anchor ourselves more deeply in the present moment. Reflect and anchor ourselves more deeply in the present moment. So take a deep breath, settle in and let's see what today's card has to offer. Our theme this week is still journeys and journeying, and this week's deck is the Necronomicon Tarot deck, inspired by the work of HP Lovecraft. I was so excited when I found this deck in an airport while I was waiting for a flight, because I really love the work of HP Lovecraft andI thought it was such a unique way to lay out a tarot deck.
Speaker 1:Our card today is Imagination, and on our card we have a figure who rises from golden roots, reminding us that every step forward begins in the soil of what has already been lived, and its body is stretching upward, trunk-like, toward the stars. What I really like about this image is that it's really pointing to the need for both grounding and reaching that balance between staying rooted in our truth and also daring to explore what lies beyond. In one hand, this figure holds a crescent moon, which is the quiet light of mystery, and this is our guide when the way is unclear, asking us to trust intuition over uncertainty. And in the other hand, the figure cups a galaxy, a cosmos that's alive with possibility. And this is the invitation to imagine, to see not only what is but what could be. What we notice, too, is the face is shadowed, the features are blurred, except for eyes that glow and a smile that emerges from the dark. And it's reminding us that the self is not always fixed. On an inward journey, we may dissolve, we may transform and we may reform, and that is not only allowed. It's totally necessary To prepare. We must also take notice of the world around us. The way the light falls across a window in the morning, the sound of leaves stirring in the wind, the kindness in a stranger's voice these are not distractions. They are our provisions, they're reminders that we are connected and not separate, that life still hums and breathes around us, and noticing it feeds our mental well-being.
Speaker 1:Tending to our inner health is not about conquering or racing ahead, but it's about listening, slowing down and choosing what we carry. Imagination, after all, is not an escape. It's a way of seeing more deeply, of giving ourselves permission to envision healing and growth and joy. So as you step into this part of the journey, or into your next part of the journey, you can ask yourself what roots will I bring with me, what moonlight will I trust to guide me in the darkness, and what vast cosmos will I allow myself to dream into being?
Speaker 1:A simple practice you can adopt is each evening this week, pause for just one moment of noticing. Choose one thing a sound, a color, a texture that you observed, and write it down, not to analyze it, but to just honor that moment for a second it, but to just honor that moment for a second. Over time, these small noticings become threads that weave the outer world into our inner journey, and they remind you that imagination is not just born within. It's sparked by the world. You let yourself truly see. That's it for today's card. For more reflections and a closer look at the cards themselves, you can find me on Instagram at the underscore card cast. I'll see you in the next episode.
